Joseph A. Pion, DO, FAAFP

Dr. Pion has been at Graham Medical Clinic since 1990 when he joined Dr. Townsend. 


He earned a BS in biology at St. Francis University. Next, Dr. Pion studied at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1984. This was followed by an internship at Richmond Heights General Hospital in Richmond Heights, OH. Dr. Pion completed his residency in 1987 at Barberton Citizens Hospital in Barberton OH.


Dr. Pion was commissioned into the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1981. He served on active duty from 1987 through 1990 at Patuxent River Naval Hospital.


He has been board-certified in family practice since 1987. Dr. Pion became a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice in 2004.


Dr. Pion has practiced family medicine at Graham Medical Clinic for 27 years. Married to his wife, Denise, for 35 years, they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. He cherishes spending time with them. He enjoys reading, gardening with Denise, sports (specifically basketball), and travel. Dr. Pion has enjoyed coaching track and basketball in the past and is currently active in medical mission work that has taken him to Honduras and Haiti.

Dr. Pion has been at Graham Medical Clinic since 1990 when he joined Dr. Townsend.

Jeffrey H. Harris, MD

Dr. Harris has worked at Graham Medical Clinic since 2003. 


He grew up in Blairsville, PA and graduated from Gannon University in 1992. Dr. Harris attended medical school at Hannemann University in Philadelphia (now known as Drexel University School of Medicine), graduating in 1996. After that, he completed a 3-year residency in family medicine at Latrobe Area Hospital in Latrobe. He subsequently spent 4 years in Waynesburg, PA working at a National Health Service medical clinic, and then moved to Central Pennsylvania and began working at Graham Medical Clinic.


Dr. Harris has been board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Practice since 1999. He also serves on the Medical Executive Committee at Carlisle Regional Medical Center and is currently the chairman of the Department of Family Practice. Dr. Harris is a medical director for Celtic Home Health and also provides coverage for the rehabilitation unit at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He also serves as the team physician for the Boiling Springs High School football team. 


His wife, Rose, is employed at Graham Medical Clinic as a physician assistant. They have 3 children – Collin, Paige, and Leah. In his free time, Dr. Harris enjoys biking, jogging, reading, and especially following all Pittsburgh sports teams as well as watching all of his children’s soccer games.

Jeffrey H. Harris, MD

Dr. Harris has worked at Graham Medical Clinic since 2003.

Amy E. Maley, DO

Dr. Maley joined Graham Medical Clinic in 2013. 


She is a native of the area and a graduate of Carlisle High School. She earned a BS in biology from Ursinus College and attended medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. Dr. Maley completed her family practice residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in South Jersey (now called Rowan College of Osteopathic Medicine) in 2012. She then went on to complete a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA.


Dr. Maley is board-certified in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment and hospice and palliative care. Her professional special interests include complex chronic disease management, end-of-life care, geriatrics, women’s health, and addiction medicine.


In her free time, Dr. Maley enjoys jogging, traveling to the Jersey Shore, and mostly spending time with her family and friends.

Michael Van Grouw, PA-C

Michael Van Groux and his family moved to the Cumberland Valley in 2001, where he works as a family practice physician assistant. He earned a BS in cellular molecular biology in 1997 at Grove City College and an MPAS in 2001 from DeSales University.


He enjoys his work and the staff at Graham Medical Clinic. He strives to really get to know his patients and provide the best care possible.


He and his wife have 5 children – who keep them very busy. Michael’s hobbies include fly fishing and leading a local church youth group.

Rose Mary Harris, PA-C

Rose Mary Harris has worked part-time at Graham Medical Clinic since 2011. She attended Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, PA, earning a BS in biology. She received her physician assistant degree from Hahnemann University, now known as Drexel University, in Philadelphia, PA. 


Rosemary has worked in family practice medicine for many years. Her previous employers include Family Practice Center/Perry Health Center in Loysville, PA and Cornerstone Care in Greensboro, PA.


She currently resides in Boiling Springs with her husband, Dr. Jeffery Harris, who is also employed at Graham Medical Clinic, and their 3 children. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, especially the beach, exercising, biking, and watching her kids play soccer.

Rose Mary Harris, PA-C

Marlene E. Ascione, DO

Dr. Ascione earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. In 2003, she earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Ascione did her internship and residency at York Memorial Hospital, becoming board-certified in 2006. 


After residency, she continued to work for Memorial Hospital until moving to Boiling Springs in 2011. Before joining Graham Medical Clinic, Dr. Ascione worked and served as a medical director at Sadler Health Center and worked at Dunham U.S. Army Health Clinic. 


Dr. Ascione and her husband, Mark, live in Boiling Springs with their 2 children, Brandon and Riley. Most of her free time is spent at her kids’ many sporting events.

Lydia K. Fry, PA-C

Lydia (nee George) Fry is a native of our area and a proud Big Spring Bulldog alumna. She joined Graham Medical Clinic in 2019. She’s a graduate of Lock Haven University’s physician assistant program. Prior to that, she earned a BS in health sciences from Lock Haven University. She also played field hockey for 4 years as an undergraduate.


Having fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a physician assistant, Lydia enjoys serving the community and her patients. She’s married to Andrew Fry, who is a resident in family medicine.


In her spare time, Lydia enjoys being with her family and friends, exercising, being outdoors, and traveling.
